One Broken Biker (OBB) Board Structure & Role Descriptions
 

National Executive Board

The National Executive Board sets the strategic vision, goals, and governance policies for the entire organization. This board provides oversight to the National Board and Regional Boards, ensuring alignment with One Broken Biker's mission and values. It comprises high-level leadership roles responsible for key decision-making and overall direction.

President - Director: Ashlee Taylor

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for OBB.

  • Oversee operations, board activities, and social media presence.

  • Represent the organization publicly and at events.

  • Ensure alignment with OBB’s mission and goals.

  • Support fundraising, partnerships, and growth initiatives.

Skills Required:

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.

  • Excellent public speaking and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects.

  • Strong collaboration and team-building skills.

Secretary - Director: Liza Yegorov

Responsibilities:

  • Take minutes at all board meetings and upload them to Google Task Tracker.

  • Maintain and organize agendas, meeting notes, and task assignments.

  • Ensure yearly registration is current and compliant.

  • Schedule and organize the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

  • Handle all organizational procurement and resource acquisition.

  • Attend events and represent OBB.

  • Facilitate communication and correspondence for the board.

Skills Required:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.

  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Treasurer - Director: Amanda Wisniewski

Responsibilities:

  • Manage finances, budgeting, and financial records.

  • Present financial reports and updates to the board.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and oversee audits.

  • Handle and track income from fundraising and grants.

Skills Required:

  • Financial management and accounting expertise.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in financial software or tools.

  • Strong reporting and analytical skills.
     

National Board (Advisory and Operational Support)

The National Board provides advisory and operational support to the Executive Board. It plays a critical role in overseeing national-level projects and initiatives, managing committees, and serving as the bridge between the National Executive Board and Regional Boards.

Memberships Director and Newsletter: Dez Horwood

Responsibilities:

  • Track, manage, and maintain accurate membership records.

  • Oversee the shipping and fulfillment of membership items.

  • Design, organize, and update the organization’s newsletter with regional team contributions.

  • Participate in events and represent OBB.

Skills Required:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.

  • Proficiency in designing and editing newsletters.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to engage and build relationships with members.

Injury Outreach Director: Shaine Isaac

Responsibilities:

  • Lead national outreach efforts to support injured bikers and improve processes.

  • Oversee injury outreach coordinators and delegate accident files.

  • Track all accidents and ensure timely follow-up with injured riders.

  • Report progress and updates to the board.

  • Assist with training and development of outreach coordinators.

  • Prepare and send outreach packages and mail.

Skills Required:

  • Empathy and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Organizational and project management abilities.

  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records.

  • Leadership and team-training expertise.

Regional Team Director: (Open Position, Currently Run by Amanda Wisniewski)

Responsibilities:

  • Keep all regional teams organized and ensure they follow protocol when starting and operating teams.

  • Act as the primary contact for answering questions and providing guidance to regional teams.

  • Ensure consistency and alignment with OBB’s mission and national board directives.

  • Support regional team setup and ongoing operations.

  • Meet with regional teams monthly to assess needs, review plans, and provide mentorship.

  • Focus on growing and expanding regional teams.

Skills Required:

  • Strong organizational and mentorship abilities.

  • Effective communication and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Knowledge of team management and protocol enforcement.

  • Ability to inspire and support growth initiatives.

Grants and Sponsorship Director: (Open Position)

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and apply for grants to secure organizational funding.

  • Develop and execute nationwide fundraising initiatives.

  • Build and maintain sponsorship relationships to secure ongoing and future support.

  • Oversee the Calgary Silent Auction by collaborating with the Silent Auction Committee.

  • Help organize Calgary Bike Nights and manage sponsorships across all teams.

  • Supervise and support Calgary and Edmonton events to ensure smooth planning and execution.

  • Manage and update the Perks Program in collaboration with the web designer.

  • Collaborate with the board to align grants, sponsorships, and fundraising efforts with organizational goals.

  • Networking and relationship-building abilities.

  • Event planning and organizational skills.

  • Financial literacy and strategic planning capabilities.

Social Media Director: (Open Position)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all social media postings with support from the President.

  • Assist regional teams with designing posters and creating social media content.

  • Ensure weekly content is consistently posted across OBB’s social media platforms.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation tools.

  • Creativity and marketing expertise.

  • Strong collaboration and design skills.

  • Ability to maintain a consistent posting schedule.

Board Committees

Events Committee

Chair: Sponsorship Director (Open Position)

  • Oversee national event planning, including the Calgary Silent Auction, and ensure smooth execution.

Members: 3-5 additional volunteers

  • Assist with organizing and overseeing Calgary and Edmonton events.

Injury Outreach Committee

Director: Shaine Isaac

  • Lead outreach efforts to support injured bikers across the country.

Members: 15-25 volunteers

  • Conduct outreach calls and provide personalized support to injured bikers and their families.

This non-profit organization is 100% volunteer based and provides compassionate services to Canadian injured motorcyclists. Donations directly support injured riders, providing them with both financial and emotional support. Our diverse and non-discriminatory group has a common goal: to create a neutral space for injured bikers and non-injured bikers alike.
